Parent Drawing Lesson

Were so lucky to have David, Dylan's dad, come in and teach us how to draw an elf.  He is a great cartoonist and the kids were so absorbed in his lesson! Thank you for coming in!

Tree Science

We did two fun science activities this week to learn a little more about trees! First we watched this video:

Then we found scraps from the recycle bin to soak in water and turn into new paper! The kids got to blend up the soaked paper, push it through a mesh frame and then form it into a shape of their choice. We also got a little crazy with some glitter :)

We also made some leaf inspired art by melting crayons onto wax paper and then dropping dried leaves onto our creations!

 

Four Seasons of Trees

We did our four seasons of trees art project a couple days ago, they turned out so cute.  It's one of my favorite art projects of the year because the trees look so cool put together at the end.  We get to use lots of fun techniques like sponge paint, metallics, q-tip dots, and tissue paper. 

Catching Snowflakes

We recently did a fun pastel art project showing people catching snowflakes. To go along with the project, we read a few Nellie Edge poems and talked about words to describe snow.  I had the kids write a sentence about snow to post under their art work.  They turned out pretty cute!
