There's a great book called The Little White Owl by Tracey Corderoy. Reading this book leads to discussions about kind words, including everyone in activities and what it means to be a good friend.
After reading the book, we started a chart on what it means to be a good friend. We needed to get up and move around, so the discussion will be continued later so more items can be added to our chart!
Finally, we painted our own unique owls using paper plates. They turned out so cute! Later we will write out some words and phrases that good friends would say and add them to the board.
